WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role reports to the Materials Planning Director, Footwear, and connects planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and product creation partners. They collaborate with Materials Sourcing, Materials Costing, Materials Development, Global Supply Planning, Global Merch Planning, Technology and Analytics, Supplier Manufacturing Management, and Tier 2 materials partners.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for a strategic, solutions-oriented materials planner who can turn complexity into clear action. This person combines a strong understanding of materials planning, manufacturing, and supply chain operations with the analytical judgment to assess plan health, anticipate risk, and recommend practical solutions. They use data, business context, and stakeholder input to strengthen forecast completeness, accuracy, and fidelity while maintaining accountability to key performance measures.
The ideal candidate communicates with clarity, builds alignment across diverse and cross-cultural teams, and balances long-range strategy with disciplined execution. They thrive in a fast-moving environment, challenge the status quo, and bring curiosity to new planning capabilities and ways of working. Strong presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritize competing needs, navigate ambiguity, and help teams move with speed and confidence.
The candidate will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- Minimum of 6 years of directly relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), demand translation, production planning, capacity management, manufacturing practices, lead-time strategies, and corrective-action processes.
- Experience using segmentation, service levels, risk assessment, analytics, and planning tools to prioritize work, evaluate plan health, and improve business performance.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, cross-cultural virtual teams, materials segmentation, Critical Materials Tracking, o9 Materials Forecast, or seasonal readiness processes is preferred.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You’ll shape material supply plans that support finished-goods delivery across seasonal and longer-range horizons. You’ll connect demand, supply, data, and cross-functional expertise to expose risk early, strengthen readiness, and create a more responsive, resilient, and efficient footwear materials supply chain.
- Develop and manage sport-level material forecasts, integrating cross-functional inputs and translating finished-goods demand into clear supply requirements.
- Monitor plan health, identify forecast gaps, and drive actions that improve forecast completeness, accuracy, and fidelity.
- Establish planning service levels and use segmentation to prioritize materials and actions based on strategic value, feasibility, and delivery risk.
- Define and operationalize material lead-time, commitment, and staging strategies that increase agility and support demand variability.
- Partner with Materials Sourcing, Supplier Management, and Materials Development to recommend sourcing strategies, capacity solutions, and material alternatives.
- Lead seasonal readiness across the assigned sport alignment, connecting milestones from long-range planning through execution and representing Materials Planning in cross-functional forums.
- Own strategic initiatives, monitor performance measures, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Technology and Analytics teams to strengthen tools, capabilities, and data transparency.
