Learning & Development Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Learning & Development Coordinator runs Orion University's academies, live events, and learning sessions end to end. This role owns rosters, scheduling, logistics, and content builds across multiple concurrent programs, and serves as the day-to-day point of contact for SMEs, OpCos, and vendors on assigned programs. This is a junior-to-entry-level role: prior instructional design or coordination experience is preferred, but training and mentorship are part of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own roster creation and management across multiple concurrent academies and programs
Independently manage the Orion University master calendar and event schedule; resolve scheduling conflicts and coordinate timing with OpCos and SMEs
Coordinate logistics end-to-end for live and virtual events (scheduling, vendor/venue coordination, tech setup, materials, follow-up)
Attend live events in person as the on-site point of contact
Build and edit eLearning modules and SCORM packages independently in Articulate, Mindsmith, and AI-assisted authoring tools
Post, update, and maintain the Cornerstone course catalog and LMS content
Serve as day-to-day point of contact for SMEs, OpCos, and vendors on scheduling and logistics questions
Own participant communications (registration, reminders, follow-up)
Track and report attendance, completion, and satisfaction data across assigned programs
Maintain and improve checklists and process documentation for recurring program cycles
Provide on-the-ground research and training-creation support as program needs arise
CORE COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience coordinating logistics for live, virtual, or blended programs (events, training, or similar)
Comfortable managing multiple concurrent program schedules independently
Experience posting and managing content in an LMS (Cornerstone experience preferred)
Hands-on experience building eLearning content in Articulate, Mindsmith, or similar authoring tools
Working familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design basics
Comfortable using AI-assisted authoring tools to accelerate content builds
Strong written and verbal communication; works directly with SMEs, OpCos, and vendors on routine logistics without close oversight
Comfortable presenting or supporting in live and virtual sessions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1–3 years of experience in training coordination, program support, or instructional design
Hands-on experience with an authoring tool (Articulate, Mindsmith, or similar)
Some LMS administration experience preferred (Cornerstone a plus)
Comfortable working with moderate independence and interfacing directly with stakeholders
WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL
This is an in-office role based at Orion's headquarters in Superior, CO. Travel is approximately 10%, primarily for in-person events, on-site program support, and training creation.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $65,000–$75,000 annually.
