Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Wild Horse Inn is a charming boutique destination offering 26 cozy cabins, an inviting lodge with 8 guest rooms, and a stunning event center designed to host up to 150 guests. With its blend of rustic charm and mountain elegance, Wild Horse Inn is a sought-after location for weddings, retreats, and memorable getaways.
Principle Purpose of Job:
The Lodge Manager is the operational leader of Wild Horse Inn, responsible for overseeing daily operations across all departments, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and executing seamless events. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing guest services, housekeeping, event planning, and catering execution. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, hospitality-driven environment and can gracefully balance back-of-house logistics with front-of-house excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for all guests by overseeing front-of-house operations, including check-in / check-out procedures and concierge services – must have a broad knowledge of local attractions and amenities.
- Manage reservations, handle cancellations, and adjust accommodations, as needed to maximize occupancy and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, cabins, and common areas to ensure they meet standards of cleanliness and comfort.
- Maintain outdoor public spaces, including hot tub area, and outdoor firepits to ensure all areas are up to standards.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks and minor repairs or coordinate with contractors to maintain the property and ensure a safe and attractive environment for guests.
- Maintain security of the entire facility
- Prepare and serve breakfast or other meals to guests, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences whenever possible
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly to ensure a positive and memorable experience during their stay.
- Organize and host special events, such as weddings or conferences, including planning, setup, and execution during their stay.
- Managing relationships with vendors such as florists, photographers, and rental companies
- Manage catering logistics by working with kitchen staff or outside caterers to plan and execute food service for events and guest dining.
- Maintain records of inventory for supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring availability and timely replenishment.
- Manage budgets and financial records as needed
- Recruit, train, and manage a small, cross-functional team to support daily operations across departments.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of management experience in hospitality, events, or lodge/resort settings.
- Prior experience in hotel, inn, or bed and breakfast operations is highly valued
- Ability to create a hospitable and memorable experience for guests
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Manage reservations, schedules, inventory and events efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead small teams across various departments.
- Comfortable working weekends, holidays, and during scheduled events.
- Experience with property management and event coordination software a plus.
- Food safety certification and/or experience managing food and beverage service preferred.
- Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
