Description

What if your next job came with a place to call home?

If you’re the person who notices the leaky faucet, hears the strange HVAC noise, or can’t walk past something that needs fixing, we want to meet you.

GCI Residential is looking for an On-Site Maintenance Technician to join our team at Settler’s Landing in Streetsboro, OH . This is more than a maintenance position—you’ll play a hands-on role in creating a community that residents are proud to call home. And yes, there’s a pretty great perk: this position includes a FREE 2-bedroom apartment plus a paid CFC certification class to help you continue building your skills and your career.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You’ll be the go-to person when things need to work—and work well. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Keeping the community looking clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
  • Diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of residential maintenance requests with speed, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Preparing apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliances, building exteriors, and more .
  • Performing preventative maintenance and identifying potential issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Partnering closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to keep the community running smoothly.
  • Building positive relationships with residents and delivering the level of service that makes them want to stay.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and doesn’t need to be told twice to get something done.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience .
  • Hands-on knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, building exteriors, and HVAC.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional service and building genuine relationships with residents.
  • The ability to stay organized, self-motivated, and thorough—even when the day doesn’t go exactly as planned.
  • Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call hours.
  • The ability and willingness to live on-site in the provided 2-bedroom apartment .

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA certification preferred, or the willingness to obtain it.
  • Significant hands-on HVAC repair experience.
