Job Overview

Lead and manage all aspects of risk management for Paytm Money's Market Risk and MTF operations, ensuring compliance with exchange regulations and protecting the company's financial health while facilitating optimal trading activity.

Principal Accountabilities

Develop and implement risk management frameworks specifically tailored for stock market activities, including:

o Equity market risk (systematic and non-systematic)

o Derivatives market risk (futures, options)

o Margin Trading Funding (MTF) risk (client exposure and internal limits)

o Liquidity risk (ability to meet financial obligations)

Design and implement stress testing scenarios to assess portfolio resilience under various market conditions (volatility spikes, crashes, sector downturns).

Monitor real-time market data and key risk indicators (KRIs) to identify and proactively mitigate emerging risks.

Oversee risk limits for client positions and trading activities, ensuring adherence to position sizing and leverage guidelines.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting of market risk exposures and CTCL reporting

Balancing risk mitigation with maximizing profitable trading opportunities for clients.

Adapting risk management strategies to respond to volatile market conditions and changing market dynamics.

Implementing effective risk controls for complex financial instruments and trading algorithms.

Maintaining a strong risk culture within the trading environment, balancing risk awareness with fostering a proactive trading approach.

Decision

Internal Clients: Setting risk limits for client accounts, approving margin extensions.

External Clients: Negotiating risk parameters with clearing houses and other counterparties, managing credit risk associated with counterparty exposure
