Manufacturing Professional - Prod Process and Equip
The Manufacturing Professional – Manufacturing Engineering Specialist in Drilling Services develops, deploys, and improves manufacturing technologies, systems, tooling, and processes for Drilling Services. The role combines manufacturing engineering, technical troubleshooting, digital solutions, and project execution to improve safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, reliability, and product cost.
Role Overview
This role provides manufacturing engineering support to Drilling Services manufacturing, working with production and cross functional development teams in Production supervision, product performance engineering, quality and other functions. The manufacturing Engineer leads process improvements and new product introduction activities, deploys digital and automation solutions, resolves manufacturing and drilling services Assets issues, and ensures workshop equipment and technical requirements remain ready, controlled, and compliant.
Partner with Us:
- Establish and maintain SAP routings and bills of materials BOM for manufactured products, ensuring alignment with the latest engineering drawings.
- Implement the latest engineering change orders ECOs, complete required actions based on each ECO disposition.
- Review and maintain relevant material master data in SAP, coordinating updates with the material planning team to ensure data accuracy and planning readiness.
- Plan and maintain monthly workshop supplies, production consumables, and fabrication requirements,
- Initiate and follow up purchase requisitions and purchase orders for locally sourced materials, consumables, tooling, and fabrications.
- Identify and support carbon out initiatives by improving energy efficiency and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.
- Develop, optimize, and standardize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, reliability, and product cost.
- Design and implement digital tools, applications, scripts, dashboards, and customized solutions that improve manufacturing visibility and execution.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Drilling Services TIDs and shop floor failures.
- Perform structured root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions for process, equipment, and product issues.
- Define workshop tooling and equipment requirements, submit yearly capex, support procurement, and ensure equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and compliant with applicable standards.
- Analyze production costs, cycle times, utilization, and process performance to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with production, product performance engineering, quality, HSE, supply chain, sourcing, facility, and product development teams to resolve technical constraints and deliver projects.
- Ensure manufacturing solutions and changes comply with HSE, Quality, engineering, and MOC requirements.
- Track project actions, risks, benefits, performance results, and communicate progress effectively to cross functional stakeholders and plant lead.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Typically, 5 years of relevant experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Specialist, Technology Specialist or AMO Engineer.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, and AMO processes within an industrial oilfield services environment.
- Technical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Baker Hughes Drilling Services MWD/LWD assets.
- Demonstrated experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and supporting new product introduction projects.
- 3+ years of experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, C#, C++, or Java for automation and customization.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for manufacturing drawings, layouts, tooling concepts, or technical design.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with experience in product cost analysis, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean Level 3 certification is preferred.
- Project Management Professional certification PMP and technical projects management is preferred.
