About the Role
As a Manufacturing Technician focused on Bench Operations at Nomic, you will support the hands-on laboratory work that enables the reliable and scalable production of reagents used in our nELISA® platform.
Bench operations will be the primary day-to-day focus of this position. You will execute structured Manufacturing workflows, including reagent and oligo aliquoting, buffer and reagent preparation, incoming raw-material handling, and the preparation of materials required for Manufacturing builds.
Many of these workflows are recurring and performed at increasing scale. Careful execution, strong organization, and the ability to maintain consistent quality across repeated activities are therefore essential to the role.
This position sits within Manufacturing and works closely with Manufacturing associates, development teams, sample management, and other Operations partners. You will help ensure that materials are prepared accurately, documented appropriately, and ready when needed for planned production activities.
As Manufacturing kit workflows are developed, you will also support their preparation and continued improvement. You will receive cross-training on customer sample receiving to provide limited backup coverage when needed.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes pride in precise and consistent execution, and is motivated by helping a production environment operate reliably and efficiently
What You Will Be Doing
Primary Responsibilities: Bench Operations & Material Readiness
Execute recurring Manufacturing bench workflows with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
Perform reagent and oligo aliquoting according to established procedures, ensuring correct volumes, labeling, identification, and traceability.
Prepare routine buffers, solutions, and production reagents using approved recipes and documented procedures.
Receive, inspect, organize, label, and appropriately store incoming antibodies, antigens, and other raw production materials.
Verify incoming materials against expected information and communicate discrepancies or material concerns to the appropriate Manufacturing team member.
Prepare materials for downstream use and Manufacturing builds, including aliquoting, staging, labeling, organization, and readiness checks.
Maintain accurate material identification, traceability, and documentation throughout assigned bench workflows.
Follow established procedures closely and identify discrepancies, unexpected observations, or process concerns before they affect downstream work.
Complete required bench and production documentation accurately and promptly.
Maintain clean, organized, and ready-to-use bench spaces, tools, equipment, materials, and shared work areas.
Coordinate with Manufacturing team members to complete assigned activities according to production timelines.
Contribute to improvements that make recurring bench workflows more efficient, reliable, ergonomic, and scalable.
Manufacturing Kit Preparation
As Manufacturing kit workflows are developed, support their execution and continued improvement, including:
Prepare, assemble, label, organize, and perform readiness checks for Manufacturing kits and associated materials.
Follow defined kit configurations and preparation procedures to ensure kits are complete, accurate, and ready for downstream use.
Maintain clear identification and organization of kit components throughout the preparation process.
Help establish practical and scalable kit-preparation practices as this workflow becomes a more regular part of Manufacturing operations.
Limited Customer Sample Receiving Support
When additional coverage is needed, provide trained backup support for customer sample receiving activities, including:
Receive, inspect, and document incoming customer sample shipments using established procedures.
Verify received samples against manifests and supporting documentation.
Escalate sample, shipment, or documentation discrepancies to the appropriate sample-management team member.
Follow applicable sample-identification, traceability, biosafety, and handling procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma or degree in life sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience.
At least six months of prior wet-lab, laboratory operations, or production experience is preferred.
Experience working in a structured, process-driven laboratory environment is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with pipetting, aliquoting, buffer or reagent preparation, tube or plate handling, or similar laboratory techniques is an asset.
Experience receiving, handling, or organizing biological reagents or laboratory materials is an asset.
Exposure to biosafety or BSL2 working environments is preferred, though training can be provided.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across recurring laboratory workflows.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage planned bench activities and changing production priorities.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, including accurate and complete documentation.
Strong ownership and follow-through in completing assigned work and escalating discrepancies appropriately.
Ability to work independently within established procedures while collaborating effectively with the broader Manufacturing team.
Comfort following written protocols and working with digital documentation and computer-based systems.
Who You Are
You enjoy hands-on laboratory work and take pride in accurate, consistent execution.
You are reliable, organized, and comfortable working within structured, recurring workflows.
You maintain a high standard of work when handling larger volumes of materials.
You follow established procedures carefully and speak up when something does not look right.
You communicate clearly, ask questions when needed, and escalate concerns appropriately.
You take ownership of completing assigned work and ensuring materials are ready when the team needs them.
You are motivated by making Manufacturing operations more reliable, efficient, and scalable.

About us
Nomic was founded to make biology easier to measure—and to enable scientists to extend lives by making proteomics accessible, scalable, and routine. Our story began at McGill University, where our co-founders and early team developed breakthrough technology that would change the way proteins are measured.
Today, Nomic is powered by our proprietary nELISA® platform—an end-to-end technology that delivers high-throughput, quantitative, and affordable protein data at unprecedented scale. With the launch of Omni 1000, we are making the $50 proteome a reality, breaking down barriers that have limited the field for decades. For the first time, large-scale, quantitative proteomics is accessible to any scientist, supporting everything from drug discovery and translational research to AI-enabled therapeutic development.
Since our launch, we’ve partnered with leaders in pharma, biotech, and academia—including GlaxoSmithKline and the Broad Institute—and have profiled more than 500,000 samples across diverse applications. Our growth is fueled by over $60 million in investment from top-tier backers, including our recent $42 million Series B.
We’re building a team of world-changers—scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers who believe that accessible proteomics can help shape the future of medicine. If you want your work to have real impact, we’d love to meet you.
