Lead, inspire and deliver excellence across the Manchester Major and Complex Commercial Property claims portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished loss adjusting professional who thrives on responsibility, influence and technical challenge. As Major & Complex Loss Operations Director & Executive MCL Adjuster for Leeds, you will take ownership of a high-profile region, leading a respected team of major and complex loss colleagues within a nationally recognised commercial property practice. Trusted to handle some of the UK’s most significant and technically demanding claims, you will represent Sedgwick at senior client level while safeguarding the quality, integrity and reputation for excellence the business is known for.

In this role, you will balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic and operational oversight. You will guide and support colleagues on major and complex losses, ensure strong financial performance against budget, and work collaboratively with fellow Operational Directors to maintain flexibility and responsiveness as claim volumes fluctuate. A core part of your remit will be establishing clear structures, expectations and ways of working that allow the team to perform at its best, while continuously improving service delivery and client outcomes.

Just as important is your focus on people. You will inspire, motivate and develop a team of highly skilled professionals, creating an environment where talent is nurtured and future loss adjusting leaders are developed. With a strong understanding of commercial property claims and client strategies, you will champion innovation, professionalism and continuous improvement, ensuring Sedgwick continues to set the benchmark for major and complex loss handling in the market.

What you’ll bring:

  • Professional credibility through FCILA or ACILA qualification, demonstrating recognised technical expertise in loss adjusting
  • Major and complex loss expertise with deep knowledge of commercial property claims and the ability to lead or support on technically challenging, high‑value cases
  • Proven leadership capability to inspire, motivate and manage experienced adjusters and technical support colleagues within a regional structure
  • Operational management strength with the ability to design clear systems, roles and workflows that drive consistency, accountability and performance
  • Financial and commercial acumen to deliver strong results against budget while understanding client strategies, priorities and market dynamics
  • Client‑facing confidence with the ability to engage credibly and effectively with senior client stakeholders and represent the business at a high level
  • Strategic collaboration skills to work closely with peer Operational Directors, enabling flexible resourcing and rapid response to fluctuating claim volumes
  • People development focus with a clear commitment to coaching, mentoring and developing future loss adjusting talent within the region
  • Communication excellence including strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to report clearly and concisely to a range of audiences
  • Organisation and resilience to prioritise effectively, remain adaptable during peak workloads, and maintain high standards under pressure
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and drive a culture of market‑leading service delivery
