Hess Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair company vehicles and equipment. This role is critical to keeping our fleet and production equipment operating safely and efficiently. Job Purpose: Repairs and maintains diesel engines and other equipment

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• •Services trucks and trailers and works on lights and air brakes.
• •Services pickups and maintains maintenance.
• •Writes up work orders.
• •Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
• •Maintains all maintenance records.
• •Regular attendance and timeliness.

Additional Responsibilities

Works on equipment and forklifts, as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • •High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• •Minimum of 2-5 years of experience with vehicle maintenance and/or repair.
• •Valid Class A CDL recommended.
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to coworkers and management with the ability to provide public speaking and customer presentations as needed.
• •Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and job instructions and basic problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
• •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• •Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• •Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• •Ability to use hand tools.
• •Ability to use power tools, such as drill and saw.
• •Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products.
• •Ability to use department equipment (e.g. forklifts, tractors and semi-trucks).
• •Ability to maintain confidentiality.
