Job Description:

Medical Assistant

Location: Port Jefferson Station, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 7am-7:30pm

Organization: New York Health (NYH) - PCP

In this role, you will:

• •Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• •Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• •Record patients' vital signs
• •Prepare patients for examinations
• •Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• •Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• •Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• •Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• •Other duties as assigned

We require:

• •A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• •Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• •Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
• •Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• •Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• •Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• •Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs

Salary: Starting at $22 per hour
