Your day at NTT DATA

The Microsoft SQL and cloud database engineer, specialist or architect supports Microsoft SQL Server and cloud-based database services. The role maintains database availability, security, performance, recoverability and operational compliance across hosted, private-cloud and public-cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• •Monitor database availability, performance, capacity and backup status.
• •Resolve incidents involving database services, jobs, connectivity, storage and performance.
• •Install, configure, patch and upgrade SQL Server environments.
• •Administer cloud database services and associated platform configurations.
• •Perform backup, restore and recovery activities.
• •Support high availability, replication and disaster-recovery solutions.
• •Conduct database performance analysis and tuning.
• •Maintain access controls, encryption, auditing and security configurations.
• •Support database migrations and platform-modernization initiatives.
• •Automate recurring administration, monitoring and reporting activities.
• •Contribute to lifecycle planning and technical documentation.
• •At L5, define database architecture, modernization patterns and cloud-adoption standards.

• •Microsoft SQL Server.
• •SQL Server Always On and related high-availability technologies.
• •Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• •Cloud database monitoring and management.
• •Backup, restoration and disaster recovery.
