The TEGNA Design Tank in Denver, Colorado is in search of a talented Motion Graphic Designer , with strong 3D or editing to be part of its internal creative department servicing our broadcast television stations and digital platforms.

  • The Motion Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating complex animated graphics and infographics, kinetic typography and video assets. They will work with a team of other artists and designers that will support all the TEGNA television stations daily. This position works closely with the Sr. Creative Director, Art Director, Production, Sr Mgr. Design & Production & Production Coordinator, as well as employees across all TEGNA stations nationwide. The Motion Graphic Designer will receive continuous feedback throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Design and animate broadcast graphics for TEGNA local news stations (including logo design, informational graphics, branding and marketing projects)
  • Communicate with stations about projects and daily graphics
  • Handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Candidate must have had formal training in design/art school and preferably motion graphic curriculum at trade school or college. Please don’t apply if you are not a designer.
  • Proficient in Cinema 4d and/or Blender preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Applicants with editing experience (Adobe Premiere) will have stronger consideration
  • Broadcast experience desired
  • 2-4 years of experience as a motion graphic designer in a professional graphic design environment is preferred, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply!
  • Strong executional skills in Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro are also preferred, any Chyron experience is a plus
  • Excellent design and animation skills, extra points if you are an editor and designer
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating compelling and aspirational designs, we want to see your design chops!
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Able to perform under very tight deadlines
  • Ability to multitask projects
  • Flexibility & experience with current design & editing AI tools.
  • Able to react to change and take direction effectively and productively
  • Strong spelling and grammar skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends
