Multi-skilled Technician – Projects, Buildings and Grounds

What this job involves:

As a Multi-skilled Technician at JLL, you'll be the hands-on problem solver who keeps our clients' facilities running smoothly and safely. This role combines technical expertise with project coordination, requiring you to perform preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building fabric systems. You'll work within a dynamic facilities management environment where no two days are the same, responding to service requests, supporting capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. What your day-to-day will look like:

• •Conduct routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance across building systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical installations
• •Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime
• •Coordinate and oversee small to medium-scale building projects, liaising with contractors and ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification
• •Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and completed works using computerized maintenance management systems
• •Perform minor repairs and improvements to building fabric, fixtures, and fittings, including carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping tasks
• •Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety legislation, building regulations, and JLL's operational procedures
• •Support emergency response procedures, including after-hours callouts when required as part of the on-call rotation
• •Build strong relationships with clients and building occupants, providing excellent customer service and professional communication
• •Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in building performance, energy efficiency, and cost optimization

Required qualifications:

• •Recognized technical qualification in a relevant building services trade (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or equivalent)
• •Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within commercial, corporate, or institutional facilities
• •Strong working knowledge of building systems, including mechanical plant, electrical distribution, plumbing, and HVAC equipment
• •Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
• •Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults and implement practical solutions efficiently
• •Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites as required
• •Competent computer skills for maintaining digital records and using maintenance management software
• •Strong commitment to health and safety practices with relevant certifications or willingness to obtain them

Preferred qualifications:

• •Additional trade certifications or cross-skilling in multiple disciplines (e.g., electrical AND plumbing qualifications)
• •Experience working within a facilities management or outsourced service provider environment
• •Project coordination or supervisory experience, including managing contractors and small works programs
• •Knowledge of building automation systems (BMS) and energy management principles
• •Certification in specialized areas such as water hygiene (Legionella), refrigerant handling, or confined space entry
• •Familiarity with compliance frameworks including OSHA regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
• •Customer service training or experience working directly with corporate clients
