Job Description

Our Distribution Center teams play a critical role in ensuring healthcare products reach customers safely, accurately, and on time.

Role Overview

The Operations Supervisor - Night Shift is responsible for leading and directing all night-shift operations within McKesson's Conroe Distribution Center. This role oversees a team of approximately 20-25 associates and is responsible for driving safety, productivity, quality, employee engagement, and operational performance across warehouse and distribution activities. The successful candidate will serve as a hands-on leader, spending the majority of their shift on the warehouse floor coaching associates, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring service and performance expectations are consistently achieved. The Operations Supervisor partners closely with warehouse leadership, operations teams, transportation, inventory control, and support functions to drive operational excellence while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Location: Conroe, TX (Onsite)

Compensation: Target salary range of $72,000-$75,000 plus quarterly management bonus opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Employee Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 20-25 warehouse associates on the night shift.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, recognition, and development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist with corrective action and disciplinary processes when necessary.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and team-building initiatives.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and accountability-driven culture.

Distribution Center Operations

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure service levels and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Ensure accurate execution of operational processes and company standards.
  • Coordinate shift start-up activities, labor planning, staffing adjustments, and end-of-shift reporting.
  • Maintain operational continuity and communication across shifts.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct safety discussions, observations, and shift meetings.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently maintained throughout warehouse operations.
  • Investigate and address operational issues, safety concerns, and process discrepancies.
  • Support compliance with company operational and regulatory requirements.

Operational Performance & Process Improvement

  • Monitor departmental KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Analyze reports and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and resources effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and associate engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with peer supervisors and leadership teams to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Communicate operational updates, staffing concerns, and performance results to leadership.
  • Collaborate with inventory control, transportation, maintenance, and warehouse support teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support site-wide initiatives and operational objectives.

Minimum Requirement

Typically has 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities. .

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Critical Skills

  • 3+ years of experience leading frontline teams in a warehouse, distribution, production, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Experience managing employee performance, productivity, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and employee development capabilities. [
  • Ability to lead teams through operational challenges while maintaining employee engagement.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with frontline associates.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance operational execution with employee development and retention.
  • Experience driving accountability while maintaining a positive leadership approach.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable spending the majority of the workday on the warehouse floor supporting associates and operations.
  • Experience leading diverse teams and fostering a culture of inclusion and respect.
  • Pharmaceutical distribution experience is helpful but not required; leaders from manufacturing, production, retail distribution, and other large-scale distribution environments are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work evening and overnight schedules in a fully onsite leadership role.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
