Required: 1 year of experience in Hand Therapy

• Position Purpose:
• Provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments to patients to facilitate and maximize
• functioning level as prescribed by physician. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and
• performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of
• MercyOne. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• •Administers treatment techniques competently.
• •Conducts patient assessment.
• •Develops treatment plans for patients.
• •Communicates relevant patient information.
• •Provides education to patients and families.
• •Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel.
• •Supervises students and volunteers.
• •Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
• •Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• •Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred.
• •No prior experience required.
• •Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under the supervision of an Iowalicensed OT for a period not to exceed 6 months from the date the application was received in the board office for licensure by examination).
• •Mandatory Reporter
• •BLS
• •FIM
• •Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) (required for Outpt Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Contract Therapy)
