Description
TerraVest Tanks manufactures high-quality propane tanks in Kaleva, Michigan. We are looking for dependable people who want to learn, work safely, and be part of a supportive team that takes pride in what we build.
This entry-level position provides hands-on training in our Front Half New Tank Manufacturing operations, including the plasma table, Davi roller, long seam, head press, girth welder, and PAUT. Employees operate manufacturing and welding equipment, use hand and power tools, move tank components between stations, inspect their work, and help maintain a clean and safe work area.
Over the first six months, employees will have opportunities to build familiarity and skills across these stations based on production needs and individual progress. No previous welding experience is required, and full training is provided.
- Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
- $1,000 sign-on bonus
- Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Three-day weekends
- Two scheduled paid holiday shutdown weeks after 90 days: the week of July 4th and the week between Christmas and New Year’s
Requirements
You do not need previous welding experience to get started. We are looking for someone who is dependable, works well with others, takes safety seriously, and is interested in learning how propane tanks are manufactured. Experience with welding, tools, machinery, or manufacturing is helpful, but we provide the hands-on training needed for the role.
This is an active manufacturing position. You will be standing and moving throughout the shift while using tools, handling materials, working from raised platforms, and helping guide tank shells through the production process. The work includes bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing a few steps, and working around welding, sparks, heat, noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
The right person will be comfortable following work instructions, wearing required PPE, asking questions when something is unclear, and working as part of a team to produce safe, quality tanks.
