Work Shift:
Primarily responsible for providing professional emergency treatment in the pre-hospital setting. Primarily treats and transports the sick or injured. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
Qualifications:
- A. Education & Training:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training
- program as a Paramedic.
- B. Experience:
- Six (6) months experience.
- C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Current Georgia Paramedic certification. Valid Georgia driver’s license. Current
- AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification.
- AHA/ARC PALS certification or within 9 months of hire. CPT training within 9
- months of hire. FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of
- hire.
- D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility
- performance evaluation. Have the ability to communicate both orally and in
- writing in English and to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees,
- volunteers and management. Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under
- adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress. Be able to
- think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations,
- which may occur. Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care
- equipment. Be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves,
- gown, mask, etc.
