JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Abington’s Division of Social Sciences, Psychological and Social Sciences program, invites applications for an adjunct instructor of Anthropology to teach ANTH 45N: Cultural Diversity: A Global Perspective to begin in January 2027 with the possibility of continuing in August 2027 .

Candidates must be able to teach this introductory course in Cultural Anthropology and classes are in-person or hybrid for this position. We are offering two sections of the course. Those sections run Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05 p.m. to 4:20 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. There is flexibility, however, in the days/times we offer these courses.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Doctoral degree in Anthropology, but ABD and Masters level candidates will be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduates is highly desirable.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to helping all students succeed through engagement in and out of the classroom.

The Abington College of Pennsylvania State University is a four-year college with a diverse population of 4,000 students in the suburb of Abington, Pennsylvania. While maintaining a close-knit academic community atmosphere typical of a small liberal arts college, Abington offers its students and faculty all of the resources of a major research university.
