The Part-Time Day Shift Arena Operations Staff member supports the daily operations, maintenance, preparation, and overall readiness of the facility. This position assists the Operations Department with building inspections, event preparation, equipment movement, housekeeping coordination, facility projects, and general operational needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and event-ready facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Arena Operations Department with daily building operations and facility readiness.

Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas and report maintenance, safety, housekeeping, or operational concerns.

Assist with preparing the facility for upcoming events and activities.

Move, organize, stage, and store tables, chairs, equipment, barricades, stanchions, and other operational assets.

Assist with event setup, including seating, floor protection, staging, equipment, and other event-related requirements.

Assist with maintaining organized storage areas, loading docks, back-of-house areas, and operational workspaces.

Assist with inventory control and organization of Operations Department equipment and supplies.

Complete assigned work orders and operational tasks as directed by management.

Assist with preventive maintenance activities and facility projects.

Coordinate with housekeeping and other facility departments to address building needs.

Assist with maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and overall readiness of operational areas.

Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and event-related equipment.

Safely operate carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other approved equipment following proper training.

Assist with event conversions when operationally required.

Support Operations Management with special projects and facility initiatives.

Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings.

Communicate operational issues, safety concerns, equipment damage, and facility deficiencies to management.

Maintain a professional and service-oriented relationship with employees, vendors, contractors, event personnel, and other departments.

Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.

Equipment cleaning and Maintenance

DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on the facility's operational needs, day-shift responsibilities may include:

Daily building inspections

Event preparation and pre-event checks

Equipment staging and movement

Storage organization

Work order completion

Preventive maintenance support

Loading dock and receiving support

Inventory organization

Seating and equipment preparation

Facility projects

Housekeeping coordination

Back-of-house organization

Safety inspections and hazard reporting

General building readiness

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in arena operations, facilities, event operations, warehouse operations, hospitality, construction, or a related field preferred.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Strong attention to detail and safety.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and other departments.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Bend, kneel, stoop, reach, push, and pull as required.

Safely lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier items moved using team-lifting procedures or mechanical equipment.

Work in varying temperatures and conditions, including loading docks, garages, outdoor areas, and event spaces.

Safely operate or work around carts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment when properly trained and authorized.

Navigate stairs, ramps, and other back-of-house areas as required.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

Safety is a fundamental responsibility of this position. Employees are expected to:

Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.

Participate in required safety training.

Wear appropriate PPE when required.

Follow proper lifting and material-handling procedures.

Report unsafe conditions, injuries, equipment damage, and hazards immediately.

Never operate equipment without proper training and authorization.

Maintain awareness of employees, contractors, vendors, vehicles, equipment, and event activities within the work area.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, event-driven position. The primary schedule will consist of day-shift hours, with work schedules varying based on the facility's event calendar, building operations, and operational requirements.

Employees should expect the possibility of:

Primarily daytime shifts

Occasional early morning or evening assignments

Weekend and holiday work when operationally required

Schedule adjustments based on event and facility needs

Additional hours during periods of increased event activity
