About the Opportunity

Job Description

The School of Nursing is seeking part-time faculty to teach clinical courses in the following areas: Adult Medical/Surgical, Public Community Health, Maternal Child/Women's Heath, Pediatrics, and Psychiatric/Mental Health, and Senior Practicum. Part-time instructor positions are available as determined by the department’s curricular and institutional needs.

A nursing clinical instructor plays a crucial role in the education and training of nursing students. Their primary responsibility is to facilitate the clinical learning experiences of nursing students and ensure that they develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to become competent and safe nurses. Responsibilities include educating, evaluating, supervising, mentoring, and professional role modeling.

Requirement

  • Requirement to teach a clinical course include a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, at least two years of full time equivalent experience as a registered nurse, and an active, unencumbered North Carolina RN license or multistate licensure privilege to practice in North Carolina.
  • Previous teaching experience is highly desirable.

Start dates: May, September, and January.

Seeking applicants with significant career accomplishments within subject area and college teaching experience in a large, global, higher education institution.

Pay Range:

The rate per credit is $1395
