Do you enjoy helping others and creating exceptional first impressions? Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Access Coordinator to join our Primary Care team in the LaGrange area.
As a Patient Access Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patients have a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive or call our office. If you’re passionate about customer service, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Welcome patients and provide outstanding customer service in person and over the phone.
- Register patients accurately by collecting demographic, insurance, and visit information.
- Verify insurance eligibility, Medicare compliance, and patient benefits before appointments.
- Pre-register patients and discuss insurance benefits and financial responsibilities with confidence and compassion.
- Calculate patient responsibility estimates and collect point-of-service payments while explaining payment expectations and available payment options.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
- Utilize patient access and registration software to support efficient office operations.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations related to patient access services.
- Complete ongoing education and training requirements.
- Support the team by performing additional administrative duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
