Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Technician will perform basic direct and indirect patient care duties in support of the treatment and care of patients.

  • Reporting Relationship:
  • Reports to: Nurse Manager
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • -Licensure Required; N.C. Nurse Aide I Registry.
  • -High school graduate or GED required
  • -BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • -Previous experience as nursing assistant in hospital setting is preferred, not required.
  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • -Excellent customer service skills
  • -Demonstrates tact, versatility, and dependability
  • -High degree of self-motivation and directional initiative
  • -Positive attitude, demeanor and an effective team member
  • -Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions
  • -Performs skills and competencies as defined in orientation checklist and annual departmental competency checklist if applicable
  • -Demonstrates and maintains competencies specific to patient population served
  • WE VALUE CUSTOMER SERVICE:
  • -Responsible for driving the SHCS culture through values and customer service standards
  • -Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
  • -Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
  • -Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner
