About the Role
The People Operations & Compliance Analyst supports the execution of Dow Jones' global HR compliance program while contributing to the effective delivery of Global People Operations.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, People Operations & Compliance, the role will have a primary focus on HR compliance, policy governance, regulatory monitoring, audit and assurance activities, data integrity, and compliance-related process execution . The Analyst will also support broader People Operations priorities, including operational reporting, data validation, process documentation, controls and continuous improvement.
This role sits within the Global HR Operations & Compliance team and works closely with People Operations, People Technology, Legal, Compensation and other People Team functions to help ensure People processes are compliant, accurate, well-controlled and scalable. You will be based in our New York office.
You Will:
Global HR Compliance & Policy
- Support the day-to-day execution of global HR compliance programs, processes and controls across the employee lifecycle.
- Monitor and track employment legislation and regulatory developments across global markets, escalating relevant changes and supporting resulting policy, process, system, communication and training activity.
- Support the development, maintenance and governance of global HR policies, employee handbooks and related documentation.
- Maintain global compliance calendars, trackers, regulatory requirements and supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external HR audit and assurance activities, including recurring compliance reviews and ISO/ISAE requirements.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, process maps, controls, evidence and other compliance records.
- Support global compliance initiatives including working time and time tracking, medical accommodations, pay equity and other emerging employment requirements.
- Partner with Legal and appropriate local experts to gather requirements and help translate regulatory requirements into practical People processes and controls.
- Partner with People Technology and People Operations to support implementation and testing of compliance-related system and process requirements.
- Support compliance education and communications by coordinating materials, documentation and implementation activity.
People Operations & Data
- Support operational processes and projects across Global People Operations, particularly where compliance, controls or data integrity are critical.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance across People data, identifying discrepancies and coordinating resolution.
- Support recurring reporting and analysis, including compliance metrics, operational reporting and dashboards.
- Assist with audits and controls related to employee and People data, ensuring accuracy, completeness and appropriate documentation.
- Maintain SOPs, process documentation and controls to support consistent global execution.
- Support operational escalations and cross-functional issues requiring research, data analysis or coordination across People functions.
- Identify recurring issues, process gaps and opportunities for simplification, standardization or automation.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Continuous Improvement
- Partner across Global People Operations, People Technology, Compensation, Legal, People Experience, PBPs and COEs to support effective implementation of People programs and requirements.
- Support projects that require coordination between policy requirements, People data and operational execution.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Global HR Operations & Compliance operating model, including clearer controls, documentation, reporting and ways of working.
- Support ad hoc analysis and operational initiatives based on evolving People Team priorities.
You Have:
- 2–4 years of experience in HR Compliance, People/HR Operations, HR Analytics, Compensation Operations or a related field.
- Experience supporting HR compliance, policy, audit, controls or other risk-related activities preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience reviewing, validating and reconciling data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring requirements, deadlines and documentation across multiple workstreams.
- Ability to research requirements, identify relevant information and translate findings into clear actions.
- Strong process orientation with an interest in improving how work is documented, controlled and delivered.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with Workday, ServiceNow or similar HR systems preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
- Experience working within a global or complex organization is preferred.

- Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000
- We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
