PhD Winter Internship - 2027

HRT is seeking qualified PhD candidates for our Winter Internship Program. Our PhD Winter Internship program is a 3 week introduction to quantitative research designed for graduate students with little or no experience in quantitative trading. Over the course of the program, you will:

Learn about a wide range of trading styles from leading experts in the field

Work on independent research projects, representative of real work at HRT

Train models on our state of the art compute cluster

Explore all that New York City has to offer through a variety of social events and tech talks

This program begins on January 4, 2027. This is an in-person program and will take place in our New York City office.

Requirements

You are a full-time PhD student graduating between fall 2027 and summer 2029 in a technical or quantitative discipline (math, physics, computer science, statistics, machine learning, or a related program)

Demonstrated experience in programming; familiarity with Python and/or C++ is preferred

A passion for technology and excitement for learning something new

Exceptional problem solving skills

Strong communication skills

This program is specifically offered for individuals without extensive experience in the quantitative trading industry.

Weekly base salary of $5,800 in addition to company-paid housing, meals, and other perks.
