Albemarle is hiring for a Pipe Welder . This position is located on-site in Magnolia, AR.
What You Will Do
- Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other plant-approved materials.
- Fabricate, install, modify, repair, and maintain piping systems, structural steel, vessels, and related equipment in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, drawings, and Albemarle engineering standards.
- Read, interpret, and work from P&IDs, blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication sketches to complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Create and modify isometric drawings and field sketches as needed to support fabrication and maintenance activities.
- Prepare materials for welding through cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting, and layout work.
- Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform welds that meet quality standards and successfully pass required visual, X-ray, and other non-destructive examination (NDE) inspections.
- Conduct field inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Participate in safety meetings, perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs/LSAs), and consistently follow Albemarle safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and other team members to safely complete work and support plant reliability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent military/work experience.
- Experience with industrial pipe welding, fabrication, or maintenance experience.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and isometric drawings.
- Experience performing SMAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems.
- Ability to fabricate, grind, bevel, and prepare pipe for welding and pass applicable welding qualification tests.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
It’d be great if you also have:
- Technical training, vocational certification, or welding certification from an accredited program.
- 3-5+ years of industrial pipe welding experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with drawing and fabrication of lined, screwed, and welded piping systems.
- Familiarity with Albemarle welding procedures, engineering standards, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience using cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
- Strong verbal, written, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and identify safety, quality, and cost improvement opportunities.
