GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Working alone and/or with other plant operators, the Plant Operator II will serve as an experienced and fully qualified senior operator for the Company’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant site. The position is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant systems with little to no direct supervision. This position is expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge of LNG plant operations, process systems, equipment, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOP). The Plant Operator II requires a well-rounded individual that independently performs routine operations, recognizes, and responds to abnormal operating conditions, assists in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and supports plant maintenance and commissioning activities. As a senior operator, the Plant Operator II ma provide training, operational guidance, and technical support to less experienced Plant Operators while working closely with the Plan Manager, engineering, maintenance, and technical support personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Independently conducts daily plant operations with little to no direct supervision including, control room, monitoring, field inspections, process adjustments, and equipment operations.
· Performs LNG truck loading activities and coordinates loading operations in accordance with established procedures.
· Coordinates with Plant Manager, maintenance personnel, engineering, vendors, and technical support during troubleshooting and equipment repair.
· Maintains and services cryogenic pumping systems, mechanical piping, valves, and pressure relief systems.
· Ensures all company and customer safety and environmental procedures are followed.
· Exercises independent judgement within established operating procedures to maintain safe and reliable plant operation and escalates conditions exceeding established operating limits or authority.
· Completes systems and facility operations training and certification sessions as assigned.
· Completes job site specific training as needed.
· Identifies components on a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and locate the items at the plant.
· Reads, understands, and comprehends service and owner manuals, written SOPs, and other company documentation.
· Reviews P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation to support plant operation and troubleshooting
· Takes direction from plant supervisor, off-site engineers, and technical support staff to successfully solve problems.
· Independently performs first-level troubleshooting and diagnosis of plant equipment, process, instrumentation, and control system issues and coordinates additional technical support when required.
· Follows system commissioning activities and conducts periodic monitoring and inspection of systems.
· Responds to emergency shutdowns as required.
· Serves as senior plant operator and operational resource for less experienced Plant Operators
· Provides training, coaching, and technical guidance to Plant Operator I personnel regarding plant operations, safety procedures, equipment operation, SOPs, and emergency response.
· Maintains plant housekeeping, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards and compliant work practices.
· Conducts thorough shift turnover with incoming personnel, communicating plant status, equipment availability, active maintenance, abnormal conditions, outstanding work, alarms, operational limitations, and other relevant information.
· Monitors LNG systems in an outdoor environment, sometimes in adverse weather.
· Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite software, and the ability to make simple mathematical computations.
· Must be able to monitor systems via computer screens.
· Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Stabilis employees and customers.
· Ability to read ladder type electrical schematics and loop diagrams.
· Ability to read, understand and comprehend service manuals, owner's manuals, written procedures, and other company documentation.
· Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment (i.e., safety toe boots, hard hat, flame retardant clothing, ear/eye protection, etc.).
· Ability to independently operate the LNG facility under normal operating conditions.
· Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to abnormal operating conditions.
· Competently perform plant startups, shutdowns, equipment changeovers, and emergency response procedures.
· Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment issues using P&IDs, operating trends, alarm, schematics, manuals, and other technical resources.
· Strong working knowledge of LNG handling, cryogenic systems, gas processing equipment, pressure systems, process controls, and associated plant safety hazards.
· Ability to train and provide technical guidance to less experienced operators.
· Ability communicates plant conditions, risks, and technical issues clearly to plant management, engineering, maintenance, and other personnel.
· Ability to prioritize multiple operational and maintenance issues during changing plant conditions.
· Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
· Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and occupational medical exam.
· Ability to obtain Texas Railroad Commission certificate within 30 days (training assistance will be provided).
· Experience with the following:
Instrument Air Systems, Valve Actuators (Pneumatic, Motorized, Solenoid), Positional Feedback Systems, Fixed and Variable
Speed Motors, Heaters, Pumps, Compressors, Vacuum and/or Refrigeration Systems, Pressure Relief Valves
· Must successfully complete the Company’s Plant Operator II qualification requirements, including demonstrated competency in plant operations, LNG loading, startup/shutdown procedures, emergency response, troubleshooting, equipment isolation, and applicable safety procedures.
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· Minimum four years’ experience working and performing maintenance in a petroleum or chemical plant environment; LNG and/or cryogenic plant experience a plus.
· A combination of relevant experience demonstrated plant competency, and successful completion of the Company’s Plant Operator I qualification program may be considered in lieu of the experience requirement.
· Experience handling gas cylinders and pressure regulators a plus.
· Must have good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and application and be able to learn and use manuals and other resources to apply that knowledge in the requirements of the job.
· Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and/or steam.
· Exhibit a high level of comfort, awareness, and competence when working safely on energized equipment.
· Ability to perform work without supervision and to think clearly under unexpected circumstances.
· Ability to understand and analyze complex systems.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Activities involve standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting, carrying, transferring objects, reaching, pushing, and pulling. May need to lift to 50 pounds.
· Control Room and Field Environment: The majority of the work is performed inside the control room in a comfortable environment. However, the need to perform work outside is also necessary where the climate and/or temperature may be uncomfortable.
· Work schedules vary and are typically 12-hour shifts 24/7. Schedules rotate so operators work some weekends and some nights.
