We are seeking an experienced and motivated mechanical engineer for Plumbing & Fire Protection design to join our amazing design team! The ideal candidate will have experience in plumbing and piping design, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to projects from the initial design through final construction. The Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer will thrive in a collaborative, results-driven environment, contributing directly to the execution of our mission and vision. This role will report directly to the Plumbing & Fire Protection Team Manager.

Plumbing Designer Priorities

Design plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of projects under the supervision of the Project Engineers and Principal in Charge (PIC).

Develop accurate designs complying with company drafting standards, practices, policies, and procedures.

Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies.

Coordinate internally with the plumbing, electrical and mechanical engineering, and design teams.

Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review, and inter-discipline cross-checking.

Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Directly interface with clients and contribute to the overall business development of the company.

What You Need

Minimum 2 year Associate or Technical Degree in Architectural, Mechanical or Construction Engineering degrees or similar, or in lieu of a degree: Equivalent practical work experience beyond the relevant work experience requirement.

Relevant work experience (4+ years) designing Plumbing and/or Fire Protection systems for MEP building construction.

Experience using AutoCAD and Revit 2022 software or newer (post-school experience)

Demonstrated knowledge of building and energy codes, and working with Water/Sewer Authorities and Local Municipalities

Excellent facilitation, communication, and time management skills

High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and honesty with one's own abilities

Effective verbal and written Communications skills.

Willingness to develop professionally and personally

Relevant certifications a plus: PE, EIT, CPD, CPD, etc.

Physical requirements: Ability to travel locally, valid drivers license, climb staircases, and climb/carry ladders
