Position Summary

The Front Desk Specialist performs reception, registration, and secretarial functions in support of the daily operations of the Center while functioning as the focal communication source in the unit. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of front office duties including reception, patient scheduling, registration, processing billing information, charge entry, payment posting, batch balancing, cash reconciliation/balancing, etc. The combination of these functions will be determined by the Manager to meet the needs of the clinic. This is an intermediate clerical position working under limited supervision. This position is highly visible and is the initial contact for patient and guests of the Center, requiring a customer service oriented individual with a professional appearance and manner at all times. Work situations are a variety of regular, reoccurring duties and functions which require discretion, decision making within the scope of the position’s responsibilities, attention to detail, prioritization, organization, and excellent interpersonal relation skills. Internal contacts are general in nature and include staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, health care providers, and the general public. Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational training in medical front office desired
  • 1 year experience in related field or education/training supplement
  • Experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.94 - $27.26 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
