Join our team as a Portfolio Manager, Treasury & Payment Solutions , where you’ll partner with commercial clients to optimize cash flow, enhance liquidity, and streamline payment operations through industry-leading treasury management solutions.

In this client-focused role, you will act as a trusted advisor, managing a portfolio of business clients while identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and deliver tailored treasury and payment solutions that support their growth and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

Manage and Grow a Client Portfolio

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of commercial clients, developing deep knowledge of their business objectives and financial needs.
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through treasury management, cash management, and payment solutions.

Deliver Strategic Treasury Solutions

  • Provide consultative advice on treasury and cash management strategies that help clients improve working capital, liquidity, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze client financial and industry data to develop customized recommendations and solution strategies.
  • Introduce innovative products, services, and digital capabilities aligned to client needs and market trends.

Drive Business Development

  • Proactively identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Lead client discussions regarding product offerings, pricing, and implementation strategies.
  • Promote adoption of industry-leading treasury and payment solutions, creating value for clients and the bank.

Ensure an Exceptional Client Experience

  • Coordinate implementation activities and partner with internal teams to ensure successful onboarding and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Manage documentation, pricing, and project milestones throughout the implementation process.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and elevate the client experience.

Manage Risk and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, operational controls, and risk management standards.
  • Monitor account activity and operational processes to identify potential risks and implement appropriate escalation procedures.
  • Exercise sound judgment and risk-informed decision-making to protect clients and the bank.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in treasury management, cash management, commercial banking, financial services, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated success in portfolio management, relationship management, or business development.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
