The Wang Lab at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to study molecular mechanisms in hematological malignancies. The overall goal of our laboratory is to understand dysregulated processes that drive disease initiation and therapy resistance in leukemia as well as to identify new therapeutic strategies. Our laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach by integrating genomics, epigenomics, and immunology. The postdoctoral scientist will lead an exciting project that applies a broad range of cutting-edge technologies, such as CRISPR-based tools, single-cell multi-omics, and cancer mouse models. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in molecular biology, cancer biology and genomic technologies. Exceptional candidates can show early independence through the JAX Scholars Program .

JAX has a vibrant and interactive research community with unparalleled mouse resources and state of the art facilities for mouse neurobehavior, computational science, mass spectrometry, imaging science, and genome technologies. The JAX Cancer Center (JAXCC) is a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center complemented by institutional education, resource and service initiatives that support cancer research worldwide. JAX Genomic Medicine also partners with the University of Connecticut Health Center and promotes collaborations between researchers at each institute.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related field of study.
  • Strong training background in molecular biology, cell biology, next-generation sequencing technology.
  • Experience in computational biology, genetic screens and single-cell technologies are preferred.
  • Candidates should have at least one 1st author publication record in peer-reviewed journal.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with other members in a productive team.
