We are an organization driven by our vision, mission and values:
Our Vision: Strong and vibrant condominium communities in Ontario.
Our Mission: Engage and empower Ontario’s condominium communities with information, education, and dispute resolution
Corporate Values: Innovation, trust, teamwork, value for money, integrity, fairness
Team Values: Respect, trust, diversity, collaboration, leadership
We value flexibility and have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working remotely 2 days a week and in the office for 3 days in Toronto’s Financial District.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the VP, Technology & Application Development, the Principal CRM Developer is the senior hands-on engineer for the technology that powers the CAO's digital services, the majority of which is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. This is a technical leadership role without direct reports. The Principal CRM Developer leads CRM projects and sets the technical direction for the platform while spending most of their time (80%) building, which includes designing, coding, reviewing and shipping solutions. The role combines deep Dynamics 365 and Power Platform expertise with genuine custom software development experience in areas such as microservices and APIs, clean code and clean architecture, automated testing and CI/CD. Working closely with the development team, IT and business stakeholders, the Principal CRM Developer designs reliable, secure and maintainable solutions, leads their delivery from discovery through deployment, raises the engineering bar for the developers around them, and applies CAO's engineering standards, including the CAO AI-Native SDLC Engineering Playbook, to the CRM and to the projects that connect to it.

Key Responsibilities
Build and ship about 80% of the time
Write Dynamics 365 code every week: plugins, custom APIs, PCF controls, JavaScript, configuration and solution design.
Lead CRM projects end to end: discovery, automated testing, deployment and hypercare; Agile, with stakeholders informed throughout.
Build the custom components around Dynamics: .NET services and APIs, Azure Functions, Service Bus messaging, Logic Apps, clean architecture, clear service boundaries, disciplined dependency management and error handling.
Deliver integrations with third-party and in-house systems, on-premises and cloud: API design, async messaging, idempotency, retries, monitoring.
Choose deliberately between configuration, low-code (Power Automate, Power Apps) and custom code — on maintainability, cost and risk.
Own CI/CD with a DevSecOps mindset: source-controlled solutions, automated quality gates, managed deployments. Expand unit, integration and regression coverage.
Lead code review and set the standard for readable, testable, well-documented code.
Apply CRM AI and Microsoft Copilot, including Copilot Studio, where they deliver genuine value — and use AI-assisted development responsibly within CAO's SDLC.
Manage technical debt through proactive refactoring, and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruption.
Raise the engineering bar — 10%
Champion CAO's engineering standards and playbooks across CRM work, and help extend them to other projects and platforms in the CAO portfolio.
Coach developers, business analysts and QA on Dynamics 365, custom development, testing and delivery — without line management.
Contribute reusable patterns, templates, reference implementations and documentation other teams can adopt.
Define “done” with QA: test coverage expectations, release notes, operational readiness.
Other
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Strong proficiency in C#, with solid experience in modern .NET, RESTful API design and version control with Git.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices and automated testing frameworks, including unit testing of plugin and service code and automated regression testing with Playwright or a similar tool.
