the posting
Today’s most tomorrow company.
We built the world’s most powerful battery, the 850MW Waratah Super Battery, and now we need a Risk and Insurance expert to join the team to help us continue to develop our portfolio.
We are leading the energy transition towards a better, brighter tomorrow. The work we do makes a real and very tangible impact on the future of the planet and its people. We’re 200 people around the world with 40 GWh of projects moving through development across Australia, Japan, the US and Germany.
Akaysha build, own, and operate our assets, we don’t hand a project to someone else once it’s approved. The people who design a battery site are the same people who build it and run it for the next twenty years.
You’ll join our Legal, Risk and Compliance team, and own our Enterprise Risk Management Framework, business resilience planning, and global insurance program. You will also be responsible for driving a risk-aware culture across Akaysha Energy.
What you’ll do
Lead and continuously improve Akaysha’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, embedding a strong risk culture across the business.
Drive business resilience planning, including incident management and business continuity programs that support operational readiness.
Own Akaysha’s global insurance strategy and portfolio, ensuring effective, commercially sound coverage across corporate and project activities.
Partner with brokers, insurers and internal stakeholders to manage renewals, claims, policy placement and contractual risk exposures.
Provide strategic risk and insurance reporting, advice and training across Akaysha.
How you'll make a positive impact
Build trust across the business by providing advice that balances risk management with commercial outcomes.
Influence stakeholders at all levels, translating complex risk and insurance concepts into clear and actionable recommendations.
Foster a proactive, risk-aware culture that strengthens decision-making and organisational resilience.
Bring a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance, processes and insurance program effectiveness.
Why you’ll love working here
Flexibility first: we're hybrid by design, averaging 60/40 office and home split, and real trust to flex that mix when life calls for it.
Room to look after yourself: $1,500 a year for your wellbeing, plus $2,000 and two extra days off for your own development.
Genuinely generous parental leave: because family isn’t something you fit around a job
A stake in what we build: on top of your salary and twice-yearly bonus, permanent team members also share in the value we create through our Long Term Incentive Plan.
Lead the energy transition with us. Apply now.
We believe diverse teams build better solutions for the planet and its people. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to do their best work, no matter their background, identity, or lived experience.
