Brighte is on a mission to make sustainable home upgrades affordable and accessible for everyone.

We help Australian households invest in solar, batteries, electric vehicles and home electrification through simple, responsible finance. We also build products that support our partners and enable government-backed sustainability programs.

  • The role
  • A mid-level Product Designer in our Product and Technology team, owning defined problems end to end. You'll sit in a pod with a Product Manager and engineers, take something ambiguous and regulated, and turn it into an experience that feels obvious to the person using it. Senior designers will pressure-test your thinking when you want it, not check your work. You'll have room to grow into the parts of the role you haven't done yet.
  • What the job looks like
  • Own defined problems from discovery to shipped, alongside your Product Manager.

Move across products, features and flows, sometimes more than one at a time. It moves quickly, and you'll be trusted to keep your own work moving.

Work close enough to engineering that front-end QA doesn't mean handing notes back in Figma. You make UI and UX iterations directly in code, or you're eager to learn and we'll get you there.

Get the right people around a problem when it needs them, and go head-down when it doesn't. We'd rather you ask than guess.

Demo your work to people outside your pod, including Operations, Risk and Compliance, in language they care about.

Use the design system well, and flag the gaps when you hit them.

Make lending and compliance requirements feel clear instead of frightening.

  • Where we're at with AI
  • Further along than most, and still working it out as we go. Our designers have shipped agentic workflows into live products, and built design system infrastructure that AI coding agents can build from.

None of that is a bar you need to clear. We want someone who's been using AI in real delivery work for a few months and has a sense of where it helps and where it gets in the way. It should be speeding up work you could already do without it.

We mostly use Figma, Claude and Codex, though none of that is fixed. If you've found something better elsewhere, we'd like to hear about it. How product design gets done here is still settling, and you'd have a say in it.

  • What you'll bring
  • Around 3 to 5 years in product or UX design, with shipped work you can walk us through in detail.

Product thinking alongside the craft. You weigh the business problem, the constraints and the evidence, and you're comfortable when the right answer is small, or isn't a design at all.

Strong interaction and visual design. Deliberate decisions about hierarchy, type, spacing and behaviour.

A working understanding of design systems: tokens, composition, and why consistency beats novelty.

Accessibility as part of how you work and not a final check.

Clear writing. In a regulated product, the words are an important part of the interface.

Calibration. You know where your depth ends, and you say so.

  • Your portfolio
  • Show us your thinking. We’re interested in how you think, how to approach problems, and the work that you’re proud of.

You don't need to tick every box. If the role interests you and you think you'd add something, apply.
