Production Worker/Forklift - Temporary position

Job Type: Temporary - around 3 months

Shift Schedule: M-Th, 6a - 4pm

Salary: $18/hour

Production Worker/Forklift Job Duties

Packaging Operation

• •Operation of packaging equipment, including bag feeder, pallet jack and shrink-wrapping machine
• •Ensure bags are stacked appropriately on pallets, and are positioned for placement in the warehouse
• •Accurate completion of production reports
• •Taking pellet samples for quality control testing
• •Labeling/tagging wrapped pallets with required quality control information
• •Other duties as assigned

Forklift/Warehouse Operation

• •Operation of forklift in the warehouse and other production areas to move, transport and stack wrapped pallets of wood pellets in a neat and orderly fashion.
• •Operate forklift to load trucks for delivery, ensuring all required paperwork has been filled out and signed
• •Count and record pallets for inventory purposes
• •Stack junk pallets until they can be disposed of properly
• •Maintain communication with co-workers and control room leads on status of work
• •Other duties as assigned

Production Worker/Forklift Job Requirements:

• •One to two years forklift operation experience in an outdoor setting
• •Production line experience in an industrial setting highly preferred
• •Will be bending/lifting around 50 lbs bags throughout the shift
• •Will be working indoor and outdoor settings
• •Will be surrounded by sawdust
• •Must possess good eye, hand and foot coordination
• •Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multi-task
• •Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
• •Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
• •Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
• •This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.
