Firmus Technologies

Firmus Technologies is a global leader pioneering the development and operation of efficient AI infrastructure across Asia Pacific.

Founded in Australia in 2019, our mission is to create the most efficient AI infrastructure by combining cutting-edge technology with a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

At Firmus, we are unique in our approach. We design, build, and operate a new class of digital infrastructure – the AI Factory. Through our model-to-grid technology approach, we have pushed the boundaries of multi-generational liquid cooling systems, energy management, AI software orchestration, and construction. For our customers, this approach allows us to make every watt count and deliver low-cost AI tokens globally.

Firmus AI Cloud

Our large-scale GPU cloud platform, Firmus AI Cloud, is purpose-built to deliver energy-efficient AI compute at scale to customers.

It empowers developers, enterprises, educational institutions, and government users to train and deploy AI models with unmatched efficiency and cost savings. With an ever-growing suite of services and applications, we are committed to delivering a cloud experience that is market-leading, proprietary, and built to scale.

Why Firmus?

As an NVIDIA Cloud and Engineering partner in Asia Pacific, you will gain skills, experience, and exposure across the AI industry and be part of shaping what this industry looks like for decades to come.

We are founder-led, not a big corporate. Decisions happen fast, our leaders are accessible, and there's minimum bureaucracy between you and the work. Ownership comes early. Whatever your role, you will have a direct line to outcomes, helping shape how the business grows as we scale nationally across a long-term, large-scale roadmap.

Work alongside founders and experts in AI infrastructure, energy systems and next-generation compute.

What we build here has impact beyond the business. Our AI Factories are designed to operate as assets to the energy grid to actively strengthen the communities and regions they operate in rather than drawing from them.

Considering applying? You don't need a perfect background to join our team. If you're driven and curious, there's a path for you. We back our people to grow into new domains and take on challenges beyond their previous experience.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the commissioning and operational readiness of large-scale AI cluster deployments. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all commissioning activities from installation of compute, network, and storage components through cluster integration, phased bring-up, validation testing, benchmarking, acceptance testing, and transition to operations.

Working across internal engineering teams, operations, facilities, suppliers, and technology partners, the Project Manager will ensure that complex AI infrastructure systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with defined performance and reliability requirements.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in large scale IT/HPC/AI/hyperscale projects, with the ability to manage multiple teams, vendors, and partners, technical packages, and complex project schedules to ensure successful delivery of critical environments.

This role combines project management, stakeholder management, and technical commissioning leadership for some of the world's most advanced AI computing environments.

Key Responsibilities

AI Cluster Commissioning

Manage the deployment and commissioning of large-scale AI clusters including compute, network, storage systems, integration with power and cooling systems, bring-up, component and system testing, benchmarking, and acceptance testing.

Manage internal teams as well as vendors and partners responsible for hardware deployment, executing defined test plans, remediation work, and acceptance testing.

Coordinate closely with infrastructure teams to ensure readiness of power, cooling, and network connectivity prior to and during commissioning.

Ensure commissioning follows the defined processes and executes the planned schedule for successful and on-time delivery of the project.

Success in this role is measured by delivery of fully commissioned AI clusters meeting performance, reliability, schedule, safety, and operational acceptance requirements.

Vendor and Partner Management

Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, partners, and internal stakeholders delivering various technical work packages.

Review and manage project schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), resource plans, and deliverables.

Monitor vendor performance against schedule, budget, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

Coordinate activities across multiple teams and resolve dependencies, conflicts, and execution risks.

Ensure supplier deliverables meet project objectives, technical requirements, and operational readiness standards.

Project Planning & Controls

Develop and maintain integrated project schedules for AI cluster deployment and commissioning activities.

Identify project risks, dependencies, and constraints and implement mitigation strategies.

Lead issue management, escalation processes, and recovery planning when required.

Monitor project progress against key milestones and coordinate corrective actions where necessary.

Provide regular reporting, forecasts, and status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Support project budget tracking, forecasting, scope management, and change control processes.

Ensure project documentation is maintained, organized, and communicated appropriately throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

5+ years of project management experience delivering large-scale IT, cloud, data center, HPC, AI, hyperscale infrastructure, or critical facilities projects.

Experience managing complex projects involving multiple internal teams, vendors, contractors, and technology partners.

Demonstrated experience developing and managing project schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.

Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including compute, network, storage, power, cooling, and supporting systems.

Experience coordinating commissioning, testing, validation, acceptance, or operational readiness activities.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with commissioning of data centers, critical infrastructure, or complex technology systems.

PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, or equivalent project management certification.
