The Opportunity
As a Facilities Integrity Lead, you will be a key contributor to improving the way facilities programs are executed for all asset types located within TC Energy's Canadian pipeline systems.
The lead role is an individual contributor who will work closely with other functional managers (including Canada Gas Operations, Integrated Planning, and Engineering) the managers of facilities integrity team, and external stakeholders, to organize and plan executable programs. In this role, we will rely on you to take initiative and demonstrate leadership skills while developing systems, processes, and tools required to enable a positive outcome for the program.
Please Note: These positions will require travel to various company locations for temporary assignments to be familiar with projects in the program and would involve some overnight stays away from home.
What you’ll do
- Drive consistency in how various project managers work with internal and external stakeholders to execute brownfield integrity projects
- Improve alignment and efficiency across stakeholders (e.g., CM&I, Engineering, Commissioning, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning) by actively coordinating discussions, clarifying expectations, and driving decisions earlier in the lifecycle.
- Identify systemic gaps blocking day to day execution and work with functional managers to drive practical solutions for the breadth of the portfolio
- Coach and mentor within the team to enable positive project outcomes
- Advance scope and estimate maturity of high-risk, complex, or atypical scopes and drive programmatic critical resource support to various project
- Classify work based on complexity to enable programmatic execution on repeatable scopes and drive bundling of repeatable scopes to enable execution efficiency
- Proactively manage requests from portfolio management enabling improvements to future years program
- Support the development and implementation of TC Energy’s project management tools, standards and processes through PMO to support programmatic execution
- Support front-end planning and in-year program management to streamline execution, including PM/PE assignments, workload and resource balancing, program churn management, and issue resolution in collaboration with COTS, PO, PM&R, CM&I, PE team, SC, Materials, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 10 years of related project management experience
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices
- Proficient in PC-based computer systems and software applications with an emphasis on SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, Master Plan. and Project
- Proven ability to embrace and lead change and quickly understand new processes and related issues
Preferred qualifications and requirements
- Ability to build strong relationships to influence and exercise leadership without formal authority to peers and functional managers
- Leadership skills in delegation, negotiation, communication and consensus building to coordinate work to meet objectives
- Career objective alignment: leadership career progression outside of directly managing projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be an asset
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (or equivalent provincial regulatory body) and in good standing.
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (up to 25%)
