As a Project Manager III within PNC's Tech PMO Management Retail organization, you will be based in Strongsville OH, Pittsburgh PA, Dallas TX or Birmingham AL.
The Project Manager III is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects that support business objectives and strategic initiatives. This role manages all phases of the project lifecycle, including scope definition, resource planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and implementation, while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals.
The Project Manager III partners with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to establish project priorities, coordinate activities, resolve challenges, and drive successful outcomes. This position serves as a subject matter expert in project management practices and provides guidance on project governance, process improvements, and change management efforts.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial management and stewardship for assigned projects and programs, including budget planning, forecasting, expense tracking, and resource optimization.
- Monitor projects to ensure compliance with PNC Project and Change Management policies, governance standards, risk controls, and required documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead medium to large-scale projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resource requirements, and deliverables.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, leadership, and project teams.
- Monitor project performance and provide status updates, metrics, and executive reporting.
- Ensure project scope, objectives, and deliverables remain aligned with business needs.
- Manage competing priorities and drive timely decision-making to maintain project momentum.
- Support change management and adoption efforts associated with project implementations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational project management standards, methodologies, and governance requirements.

Job Description
- Manages the most complex projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment. Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes. May be assigned a single project or a portfolio, requiring extensive planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business. Typically, project size may be greater than $2.5m.
- Develops strategy, processes, resource allocation, budget, guidelines and support of project management team.
- Partners with internal project liaisons to acquire resources, assigns tasks, directs activities, and controls project execution. Coaches and mentors project team members.
- Tracks and reports progress, analyzes the results based on facts, defines the products of the project, and forecasts future trends in the project. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, devises contingency plans and recommends improvements based on results.
- Maintains communications for governing bodies and interested parties. Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $75,000.00 – $137,500.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
