Position Overview

MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with Psychiatric Mental Health certification to join our established, well-respected, and growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy instant volume and collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team.

Practice Highlights

• •Join an established, well-respected, and growing practice .
• •Current team:
• •1 General Psychiatrist
• •1 Child Psychiatrist
• •1 Psych Hospitalist
• •1 ARNP

• •Clinic-based role with shared call responsibilities.
• •Call schedule:
• •Weekday: 1:5*
• •Weekend: 1:7*
• (*subject to change)
• Includes consults and inpatient unit coverage.

• •Facilities:
• •20-bed Inpatient Unit at Waterloo Medical Center
• •Horizons Chemical Dependency Unit

Large support staff of psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors.

Responsibilities

• •Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
• •Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• •Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• •Provide patient education and support for families.
• •Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Qualifications

• •Current Iowa license as a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• •Psychiatric Mental Health certification required .
• •Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly desired.
• •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• •Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule & Compensation

• •Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared call as noted above.
