About the job
As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will join our Quality team in Waterford and gain hands-on experience of how quality processes support the manufacture and release of medicines.
You will support documentation and archiving activities across the QA Specialist teams, help prepare records used during the batch release process, and gain exposure to quality audits, inspections and day-to-day quality operations. You will work with different systems, teams and processes, giving you the opportunity to build practical experience in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This internship is ideal for a Life Sciences student who is organised, curious and keen to understand how Quality Assurance works within the pharmaceutical industry.
Ready to grow your skills while helping shape the future of healthcare? At Sanofi, you’ll be empowered to learn, ask questions, and bring your ideas to life – all while supported by inspiring mentors and collaborative teams.
Main responsibilities:
- Support the preparation, review and archiving of Quality Assurance documentation.
- Upload batch release documentation to internal systems and support the associated archiving activities.
- Help maintain well-organised records and working areas in line with quality and 5S standards.
- Support monthly quality audit walkthroughs and preparation activities for GMP audits and inspections.
- Take part in daily and weekly Quality team meetings, giving you exposure to how day-to-day quality operations are managed.
- Work in line with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, Standard Operating Procedures and site safety expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Quality and other departments while contributing ideas and supporting continuous improvement activities.
About you
To excel in this role you will need to have:
- Be currently studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences and be returning to university after completing the internship.
- Have an interest in the pharmaceutical industry and in developing your knowledge of Quality Assurance.
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to your work.
- Confidence using computers and an ability to learn new systems and digital tools.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and take initiative as your knowledge develops.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different teams.
Experience using tools such as Excel, different software platforms or technical/scientific writing as part of your studies would be helpful, but is not essential. Training will be provided on the systems and processes used in the role.
