As a Research Scientist specializing in Quantum Device Technology, you will perform research covering a broad array of topics in Quantum computing. Your expertise will span multiple areas, including gates, coherence, design, simulation, test, tuning, photonics/interconversion, Josephson electronics, and device theory. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Conduct Advanced Research: Perform in-depth research in quantum computing, exploring various topics such as gates, coherence, and device theory to advance knowledge in the field. • Design and Simulation: Design and simulate quantum devices advanced EDA tools. • Test and Tuning: Develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate and refine quantum devices, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work with colleagues to address complex challenges in quantum device technology, sharing expertise and insights to drive progress. • Theoretical Analysis: Apply theoretical knowledge to analyze and interpret results, informing future research directions and advancements in quantum computing. PhD in experimental physics or related fields Experience with experimental quantum control Experience with low-temperature measurement systems Experience in solid-state qubit platform setup, measurement, and noise analysis Scientific programming for analysis and hardware interfacing Qubit-coupler dynamics simulation Experience in superconducting circuit design, modeling, and evaluation United States Research Hybrid Entry Level Yorktown Heights, US (0147) International Business Machines Corporation
