Main Responsibilities :

Propose and execute power electronic engineering and R&D projects.

Support technical, business development and sales teams with specialized expertise on power electronics real-time simulation.

  • Mentor technical team to raise skill levels in power electronics real-time simulation.
  • Provide feedback on and support pre-release testing and validation of OPAL-RT’s power electronics tools.

Write and present technical papers on power electronics simulation

Requirements :

Education : Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering (or relevant field), master’s degree holders with 5+ years of academic/industrial research experience in power electronics would be considered.

Experience : At least 5 years of hands-on real-time simulation of power electronics simulation

Required knowledge : Strong understanding of power electronic system simulation, including applications, modeling and numerical methods. Strong experience with power electronics simulation tools such as OPAL-RT’s eHS, PLECS and SPS .Understanding of concepts of FPGA implementation of numerical methods Strong experience with MATLAB, Simulink and relevant toolboxes for power electronics simulation.

Language skills : Strong oral and written communication skills in English; candidates that are also fluent in German would be preferred, French is a plus.

Required skills: Ability to inspire confidence and gain buy-in through expertise and clear technical reasoning. Strong problem solving, design, analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking, coming up with creative solutions on testing approaches in critical timelines. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Proficient at writing process documentation. Highly autonomous and proactive in identifying improvements.

Assets :

Hardware and interfacing experience for hardware-in-the-loop testing of power electronic controllers.
