Job Description:

Registered Nurse - Urology - Float

Location: Hewlett, Richmond Hill, Forest Hills, Massapequa

• Hours/Days: 5/ 8.5 hours shifts M-F 7:30am - 5pm

In this role, you will:

• •Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care.
• •Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height.
• •Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge
• •Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures
• •Sterilize surgical instruments
• •Prepare and administer injections
• •Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
• •Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
• •Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis
• •Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• •Complete MAR after treatment.
• •Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

We require:

• •Valid New York State RN License
• •Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• •Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• •Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• •Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
• •Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• •Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
• •Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
