For Linklaters Warsaw, we are currently recruiting for the Regulatory Compliance Team Lead role.

Work arrangements:

Contract: Contract of employment

Hybrid working model: At least 2–3 days per week in the Q22 office. During the first weeks, you may be expected to work from the office 4–5 days per week to support onboarding.

Working hours: 9:00–17:15 and 10:00–18:15, with some flexibility.

About the team and role

As Team Leader within Linklaters’ global Legal & Risk team, you will act as the people, process and workload manager for both the Warsaw-based Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk operational teams. You will oversee day-to-day delivery, allocate and prioritise work, support team development, and help ensure high-quality, efficient risk management across both areas. Working closely with the wider global Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk teams, you will also gradually take on responsibility for a broad range of operational Regulatory Compliance matters, providing practical and commercial in-house support to the firm’s practice and business teams on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, professional obligations and internal policies.

You will:

Team management

  • Lead, coach and develop the Warsaw team, fostering an inclusive and high-performing environment.
  • Support the Manager with day-to-day hub operations, including workload planning, resourcing and absence cover.
  • Oversee the allocation, prioritisation and timely delivery of workstreams to a high standard.
  • Act as an operational lead, managing escalations, workflow and stakeholder coordination.
  • Monitor performance against service level agreements and key performance indicators, using insights to drive improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures for Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk workstreams.
  • Support team development and capability building through mentoring, feedback and growth planning.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration and strong team spirit across the team.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Warsaw, London and Singapore, and with internal stakeholders, to ensure joined-up delivery.

Regulatory compliance responsibilities

  • Manage key compliance processes, including outside interests, client due diligence, insider lists, data destruction requests and incident reporting.
  • Respond to day-to-day regulatory and policy queries, providing practical guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships across the firm and, where relevant, with clients and external authorities to resolve issues.
  • Use sound judgement and a solution-focused approach to balance regulatory requirements with commercial priorities.

Apply if you:

  • Have 3+ years of team leadership experience in compliance, compliance support to lawyers, or similar work
  • Have 4–5 years’ hands-on experience in an operational regulatory compliance role
  • Communicate clearly in fluent English
  • Hold an LLB or equivalent, graduate in other relevant field, or strong in-house law firm experience
  • Have strong Excel skills
  • Can manage competing priorities within tight timeframes
  • Bring practical judgement, problem-solving ability and a collaborative approach across cultures
