Purpose of Position

The Regulatory Operations Specialist provides support for the company's regulatory operations by preparing and submitting routine regulatory filings; collecting, validating, and organizing required data; maintaining compliance records and filing calendars; and coordinating information with internal departments. Assists with regulatory documentation, contract filings and administration, cost-benefit analyses, audits, information requests, and other assigned projects while developing knowledge of telecommunications regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned).

Prepare and submit assigned routine monthly, quarterly, annual, and other recurring regulatory filings after appropriate training and in accordance with established procedures and review requirements.

Collect, organize, and validate regulatory, financial, customer, network, operational, and business data needed for assigned filings, reports, and information requests.

Maintain filing calendars, checklists, supporting schedules, and deadline reminders to help ensure assigned regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time.

Maintain organized physical and electronic records of filings, correspondence, supporting workpapers, contracts, approvals, and other compliance documentation in accordance with company procedures.

Perform routine data checks, reconciliations, and follow-up with departments to identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information before submission.

Coordinate with departments to obtain required information, answer routine questions, and communicate filing deadlines, documentation needs, and status updates.

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of regulatory and governmental reports, registrations, certifications, notices, and supporting documentation.

Assist with contract-related filings and contract administration, including maintaining records, tracking key dates and requirements, routing documents, and coordinating requested information.

Assist with gathering information and preparing schedules or reports used in cost-benefit analyses related to contracts, regulatory requirements, and assigned projects.

Provide support for regulatory audits, compliance reviews, governmental information requests, grant reporting, and recordkeeping requirements.

Monitor assigned regulatory and industry notices and route relevant information to the Regulatory Reporting Analyst and Director of Finance for review and evaluation.

Assist with research, documentation, and special projects related to regulatory operations, governmental programs, company procedures, and compliance obligations.

Document assigned filing procedures, data sources, and recurring work processes, and recommend practical improvements to recordkeeping, workflow consistency, and internal controls.

Work collaboratively across departments, follow established confidentiality and data-handling requirements, and maintain the accuracy and security of sensitive company information.

Qualifications

Computer Experience: Intermediate personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database activity, etc. Microsoft Word and Excel experience is desirable but not essential.

Planning/Organization: Be able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required.

Peripheral Vision: Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Adjust Focus: Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

Color vision: Ability to Identify and distinguish colors of telephone cable and fiber color codes.

Work Schedule/Hours

Regular (40 hours per week), subject to company policies. It is also possible that this job will be required to work fewer or more hours during any given week.

Travel

Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
