Residential Garbage Truck

Position Overview

Waste Connections is seeking safety‑focused Residential Rear‑Load Garbage Truck Drivers who take pride in hard work, teamwork, and career growth. This is a driver‑to‑driver position that requires both driving and riding on the back of the truck while servicing residential neighborhoods.

Safety is our #1 value. Candidates must be comfortable working in active residential areas, performing physical labor, and following strict safety procedures throughout the route.

Key Responsibilities

• •Operate a residential rear‑load garbage truck on assigned routes
• •Ride on the back of the truck between stops while servicing residential areas
• •Repeatedly climb on and off the truck throughout the shift
• •Lift, pull, and empty residential trash containers
• •Perform heavy physical labor for the duration of the route
• •Safely and courteously interact with customers in residential neighborhoods
• •Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and route procedures
• •Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• •Assist driving partner to complete routes safely and efficiently

Job Requirements

• •✅ Valid CDL required
• •✅ Minimum 2 years of work experience , with a stable work history
• •✅ Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day
• •✅ Able and willing to ride on the back of the truck during residential collections
• •✅ Comfortable with frequent climbing on and off the truck
• •✅ Willing to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other conditions
• •✅ Able to work long shifts (50–60 hours per week)
• •✅ Residential Rear‑Load or Front‑Load driving experience is a PLUS
