Retail Sales Associate

Location: FTL War Memorial, Fort Lauderdale, FL — On-Site

Schedule: Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule

Job Summary

The Retail Sales Associate has the opportunity to develop great relationships with repeat customers while informing first-time visitors of everything we have to offer. This role is responsible for enhancing the customer experience and generating sales across all War Memorial retail operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Process sales on point-of-sale system and maintain accuracy of cash drawer

Greet and assist guests with a friendly, professional demeanor

Assist guests with purchasing decisions across all retail offerings

Assist with fitting guests in hockey and figure skating equipment and finding correct sizes

Sharpen skates and repair equipment as needed

Maintain pro-shop as merchandised and ensure all retail areas remain clean and organized

Apply names and numbers to jerseys using heat press

Additional projects, tasks, and events as assigned

Qualifications

Retail experience required

Familiarity with hockey and figure skating equipment fittings, repairs, and sharpening preferred

Familiarity with operating a point-of-sale system

Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Self-starter with a high degree of enthusiasm and ability to work well under pressure

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
