Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized, high-quality care to critically ill or premature newborns , ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to support families during a challenging time.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates , including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
- Perform detailed assessments of neonates physical and emotional health, identifying any changes in condition and responding promptly.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide parental education and emotional support, fostering a family-centered care approach to help parents understand their baby’s condition and participate in their care.
- Utilize advanced NICU technology and equipment to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.
- Assist in preparing neonates for procedures or surgeries and provide post-procedure care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the NICU environment is clean and safe.

Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
- 6 Months of nights required to start
- NRP and PALS after time of hire
