As a Progressive Care (Acute Care Step-down) Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, you'll coordinate nursing care – including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.

Responsibilities:

In Progressive Care, there are opportunities for RNs to gain leadership experience through Preceptor, Clinical Practice Leader, Relief Charge and Quality Improvement roles. Working on a PCU offers a fulfilling career path for nurses who enjoy a fast-paced environment, thrive on continuous learning, and are passionate about providing high-level care to patients on their journey to recovery while providing high acuity care to a diverse patient population.

Presbyterian Hospital is PHS’s flagship hospital – located in the heart of Albuquerque. As a not-for-profit acute care facility, Presbyterian Hospital is dedicated to the care of its patients and community. Presbyterian Hospital offers a wide range of specialized care – including heart health, women’s health, children’s health and neuroscience care.

The new Progressive Care tower at Presbyterian Hospital features:

  • As a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian, you’ll be eligible for:
  • Night and weekend differentials
  • Education differentials ($2.00/hour for BSN; $4.00/hour for MSN)
  • Sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates

Qualifications:

  • Academic Preparation:
  • *Degree from accredited academic nursing program (If a program is under conditional status, approval may be granted by system CNO)
  • *Minimum ADN preparation
  • Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
  • *Required Certification from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
  • *BLS: All RN roles
  • *ACLS: Emergency Department, Critical Care, Cardiovascular Lab, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Progressive Care, Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
  • *NRP: Family Birthing Center, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother/Baby Care
  • *PALS: Children Services, Cardiovascular Lab, Emergency Department, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
