About the Role

Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta - Four brands, one place to start. Gap Inc.'s Rotational Management Program (RMP) fuels the next generation of innovators redefining the retail experience: an 18-month immersive journey built to catapult emerging talent who are curious about how global brands thrive, passionate about customers, and energized by innovation. Throughout the program, you’ll gain cross-functional experience and exposure across Product, Merchandising, Planning, Inventory and Pricing, building an understanding of how product, customer insights, inventory, and data come together to drive the business. Along the way, you’ll build AI literacy, adaptability, and leadership capabilities to excel in a rapidly evolving retail landscape. You won't watch it happen. You'll help make the call.

RMP is your canvas, where curiosity, creativity, and product obsession turn into possibility. Whether it's forecasting demand, curating assortments, or spotting trends before they hit, you'll be learning to lead from day one. Where you grow from here is something we shape together, guided by where the business needs strength, what you're great at, and the work that pulls you in. The point of starting here is how many doors it opens.

What You'll Do

  • AI fluency and judgment. Put AI and data to work, spotting what's coming, forecasting demand, and sharpening decisions. Then bring the judgment to know when it's right, when it isn't, and when it meets our standards.
  • Analytical thinking. Dig into the data and the retail math. Model the scenarios, pressure-test the thinking, and turn a messy problem into a recommendation bold enough to act on.
  • Commercial instinct. Notice what's catching on, ask why it's working, and start connecting the dots between a trend and what it could mean for the business.
  • Turning insight into action. Cut through the noise to the "so what," shape it into a clear, decision-ready recommendation, and make the case simply enough that people can act on it.
  • Product and customer obsession. Put the customer at the center. Anticipate what they'll want, understand why it matters, and shape products and experiences that blend human instinct with data-driven insight.
  • Collaboration and influence. Build trust and accountability across diverse teams, earning influence through partnership rather than position. Bring together creativity, strategy, and operations to drive aligned decisions and meaningful business outcomes.
  • Learning agility. Navigate ambiguity with agility: move across different kinds of work, pick things up fast, and pivot when the plan changes. Stay curious, keep growing, and start learning what it means to lead responsibly.

Salary range is $73,000-$75,000

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.

Who You Are

  • Completing a bachelor's degree by June 2027 and passionate about fashion, retail, and shaping what's next.
  • Curious, adaptable, and energized by change. You embrace feedback, learn quickly, and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Customer and commercially minded. You connect consumer insights, product decisions, and business outcomes.
  • AI-enabled and future-focused. You use emerging technologies to accelerate your thinking while trusting your own judgment.
  • Collaborative and resilient. You build trust across teams, navigate complexity with confidence, and bring others along.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Retail experience is a plus, but curiosity, resilience, and potential matter most.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • The program is based in San Francisco and New York City , with most roles located in San Francisco. Participants must be willing to relocate to their assigned location.
  • Qualified applicants may be required to complete a timed assessment within 7 days of applying.

You'll grow fast here — and learn what it means to lead well in a world being reshaped by AI.

Sound like you? We'd love to meet you.
