This position sits within SDI Services, a SOLV Energy affiliate company, and is posted on SOLV Energy’s careers site to connect great talent with meaningful opportunities. - The Safety Administrator supports SDI Solar and Drilling Operations by coordinating safety documentation, training records, compliance activities, incident reporting, and day-to-day administrative functions of the safety program. This position works closely with safety management, project management, operations personnel, subcontractors, and employees to maintain accurate records and support a safe and compliant work environment.
- The Safety Administrator is expected to be highly organized, proactive, and effective in an office-based support role. The position helps ensure safety requirements are communicated, documented, tracked, and completed in accordance with SDI policies, client requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Safety Program Administration
- Maintain and organize safety records, forms, policies, procedures, and project-specific documentation.
- Track employee safety orientations, certifications, licenses, and required training.
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy safety files in an accurate and audit-ready condition.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of safety bulletins, alerts, toolbox talks, and other safety communications.
- Support implementation and administration of SDI safety policies and procedures across solar operations.
- Maintain records for subcontractor safety documentation and required compliance information.
- Assist safety and operations teams with obtaining current safety forms, procedures, and documentation.
Training & Employee Compliance
- Coordinate new-hire and project-specific safety orientations.
- Schedule and track required safety training, including OSHA, First Aid/CPR, equipment certifications, fall protection, electrical safety, and other applicable training.
- Monitor expiration dates for employee certifications and notify employees and supervisors of upcoming renewal requirements.
- Maintain accurate training matrices and employee safety records.
- Assist with preparation of toolbox talks and maintain documentation of employee participation.
- Help ensure employee training and qualification documentation is current and complete for assigned work activities.
Incident & Injury Administration
- Assist with the collection and organization of incident, injury, near-miss, property damage, and vehicle accident documentation.
- Ensure required incident forms and supporting documentation are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential incident and workers' compensation records.
- Assist management with tracking corrective actions resulting from incidents and investigations.
- Coordinate required workers' compensation documentation and employee injury paperwork.
- Maintain documentation regarding offered or declined medical treatment in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with preparation of incident statistics, trends, and safety performance reports.
Compliance Responsibilities
Assist the Safety Department in maintaining compliance with applicable requirements, including:
- OSHA regulations
- Applicable state OSHA requirements
- Client and site-specific safety requirements
- SDI safety policies and procedures
- Workers' compensation documentation requirements
- Environmental, health, and safety documentation applicable to solar operations
The Safety Administrator is not expected to independently interpret complex regulatory requirements but should recognize compliance concerns and escalate them to Safety Management.
Minimum Skills and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of administrative, safety, or operations support experience preferred.
Strong organizational and document-control skills.
Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, management, subcontractors, and clients.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to identify missing or incomplete safety documentation.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting multiple project teams.
Ability to work effectively in an office environment while supporting multiple project teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee and incident information.
Strong computer and data-entry skills.
A proactive approach to safety and operational support.
Ability to respectfully communicate safety expectations to employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
- Previous experience in solar, electrical, renewable energy, construction, or related operations preferred.
- Previous safety or EHS administrative experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Familiarity with construction safety documentation and incident reporting.
- Experience maintaining employee training and certification databases.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation processes.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- This position is primarily office-based. Duties may include:
- Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
- Frequent use of a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.
- Performing repetitive data entry, document management, filing, and recordkeeping tasks.
- Communicating by phone, email, Teams, and other business systems.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying office materials weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
- Working in a professional office environment and maintaining organized electronic and hard-copy records.
